Chad became inspired about bodybuilding when he was in his teenage years when he saw Frank Zane in various fitness magazines. After completing his post secondary education and achieving his Personal Trainer Certificate from Mount Royal University and Bachelors of Arts in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge, Chad branched out into many different realms of fitness as a way to offer many styles of fitness within his business Action Conditioning. However, no matter what style of training he tried, it always felt like he was missing something.
Chad knew he always liked the bodybuilding style of training and decided to pursue his newly developed goal of competing in a Natural Bodybuilding competition. In January of 2011 Chad began training to compete at his first show – IDFA’s 2011 Western Canada Classic. He got a taste of success placing 2nd in the Novice category.
Following his first show, he made the tough decision to switch coaches in preparation for his next year and shows ahead. Under the guidance of Kurt Weidner, Chad competed at the 2012 IDFA Western Canada Classic (1st Open Heavyweight, 2nd Overall, Pro Card Recipient).
